Love the radical transparency. I can't wait to try the wines tonight.

In contrast to the philosophy of "Barolo del Comune", what are your thoughts on Bartolo Mascarello, who maintained that the traditional practice in Barolo, before the rise in prestige of single-vineyard wines, was to blend grapes from different communes to create a more balanced wine?

Ciao Sara,

we respect every way of making Barolo. From the classical blend to the single MGAs. Mascarello has always been true to the estate's philosophy and that's perfect as it works for them.

The focus here is on who produces single MGAs. We find it quite peculiar that many MGAs producers don't believe in a communal appellation.

It makes total sense now to do MGAs and communal wines. Back in the day, it was hard to ripen the grapes so a multi-commune blend was the only way to go but there's so much to discover and yet we don't have enough wines to explain properly this region.

We'll see you tonight!

Yes 2021 is going to be jaw dropping! In all fairness the Barbaresco 2021s deserve the same recognition and upon their release this year we will have the confirmation. Cheers
