Really interesting article, thanks for sharing.

I personally have not been able to taste many of the 2021’s Barolos / Barbarescos yet, though we put together the Mondino 2021 vs 2020 from Piero Busso and the 2021 had the clear edge. I’ve also heard terrific things about Trediberri’s 2021 range.

Hi Ignacio,

first of all thanks for reading our report.

As we noted it is clear that certain producers have made a terrific 2021. Most of our year's highly recommended were not in the 2020 list so for sure you will find terrific bottles out there.

We always talk in regard of our blind tasting of over 40 wines from the "Barolo del Comune" range.; this 2021 wasn't as exciting as the 2020 one. We think a lot about terroir as well: how many wines really respect the traditional traits of the commune?

In the vintage 2020 you can close your eyes and pick a random wine and you'll be satisfied but here the deal is tremendously different, especially for those who used spontaneous fermentation. 2021 needs some guidance.

Please let me know on your future 2021 tasting, we always are looking for top notch feedbacks!
